American Schoolchildren Banned from Celebrating Halloween

In an American school, celebrating Halloween has been banned:

The administration of Lafayette Elementary School in Seattle decided to prohibit students from dressing up in costumes for Halloween this year, reports CBS. According to the TV channel, the school administration and parents of students interpret this ban differently.

According to the school principal, Shauna Heath, on the day of the holiday, October 31, the school day will be shortened, and therefore students won’t have time for satanic amusements.

However, according to some Christian parents, the ban is linked to the fact that celebrating Halloween could offend the feelings of some students who belong to cultures other than Western.
However, some indignant parents insist that for students of other cultures, assimilation into the USA and acceptance of American traditions is a civic duty. “After all, only a pagan or a communist could be offended if a child dresses up as a witch or a goblin,” said one parent, adding that children should always have time for fun.
