According to information from Uzbek media, a resident of the Tashkent region, the pastor of the Dustabad Evangelical Charitable Society (DEBO) “Blagodat”, Sergey Rychagov, has been fined for systematic violations of the law “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations”. The reason for the punishment was that Rychagov organized gatherings of parishioners at a location not according to registration, Interfax reported on Thursday.
“The gathering involved 16 adherents of various nationalities, including five children of school and preschool age from among local residents. During the inspection of the premises, operatives discovered and seized over 70 books and brochures of religious content, audio cassettes and CDs, and various religious objects,” the Uzbek media reported.
