An armed police riot squad (OMON) dispersed a Christian festival in the closed city of Fokino. About 400 believers had gathered at the tourist camp. This was reported by the “Religion and Law” portal, citing the festival organizers. Late in the evening of August 23, around fifty police officers armed with submachine guns broke into the “Pesochnitsa” tourist camp near the town of Fokino, where about 400 Protestant believers were staying. They had come to participate in the “Fresh Wind” Christian music festival.
The police began drawing up reports on the believers, claiming that they had violated the regime of stay on the territory of the closed city. The Christians were told that there would be no festival here and that the local FSB demanded the camp be closed. After that, the police left the camp territory, declaring: “You will not be here.”
It is noteworthy that before the Christian festival, a regular bard song festival took place here. The FSB demanded that the bards show the lyrics of their songs in advance, after which the event was permitted.

The youth music festival of Christian song “Fresh Wind” has been held annually since 2009. Its organizers are the International Educational Camp “MERIDIAN”, the youth center Charis, the Alliance of Evangelical Churches of Primorsky Krai, the youth organization “REM”, and the “Mission in Business” movement.
