A Pentecostal prayer house was demolished in the village of Kulotino, Novgorod region
In the village of Kulotino, Okulovsky District, Novgorod Region, by court order, after three postponements, two fines, and a warning of criminal liability for church leaders, the prayer house belonging to the community of Evangelical Christian Pentecostals ‘Word of Life’ was demolished.
This is reported by the local publication ‘Vashi Novosti’ with reference to the press service of the Novgorod Regional Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service (UFSSP). The two-story building with a fireplace and double-glazed windows was erected without permission, with voluntary donations, in a coniferous forest on the territory of the children’s camp ‘Druzhba’ ‘several years ago’ — the exact time is not specified. In 2008, Novgorod media referred to the ‘Druzhba’ camp as a Pentecostal children’s camp.
In 2010, the court ordered the community to demolish the building at its own expense, writes ‘53 Novgorod News’. The claimant in the case was the administration of the Okulovsky Municipal District.
The court ruling on the demolition was carried out only after three postponements, two fines of five thousand rubles each, and a warning of criminal prosecution under Article 315 of the Russian Criminal Code, which stipulates ‘non-execution of a court sentence, decision, or other judicial act’.
