For the sake of the children, the Yaroslavkin family sold part of their business and built a large house. This is what Orthodoxy leads to when it is given power in government. The backward Orthodox religious ideology has organically replaced the overt communist godlessness.

We recall that the Soviet authorities engaged in taking children away from evangelical believers during the dark years of Stalin’s and Khrushchev’s persecution of the church. The state’s reason was the same — to prevent the growth of the next, spiritually healthy generation of evangelical believers.

September 14, 2012. Moscow. At a press conference in the offices of the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets dedicated to the hostile takeovers of Christian churches, the Presiding Bishop of ROSHVE, Member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Bishop Sergey Ryakhovsky, stated that he would look into all aspects of the “Yaroslavkin case,” where elements of religious discrimination are clearly evident. The family lives in the village of Rodnichnoye, Perevolotsky District, Orenburg Region, and previously received only certificates and commendations from both the local administration and the regional governor. Lyubov Yaroslavkina was recognized with the commemorative badge “Golden Heart” from the international public association of charitable foundations “Mama.” The children, brought up in the family, have a good reputation at school; at home they keep a large number of certificates for academic and sports achievements. The Yaroslavkins themselves are evangelical believers; Ilya is a church pastor. According to him, the desire to take children into the family came to him during prayer. Television features about this remarkable family were filmed for regional television. Then suddenly, everything changed.

Over the past month, nearly ten different inspections and commissions have taken place. The couple had just begun working on rectifying the remarks made to them when the local administration issued a decision to take away the adopted children and those under guardianship: “Due to improper performance of duties as foster parents.”

An important aspect, according to the bishop, is the fact that during the meeting of the district guardianship commission on September 12, 2012, insults of a religious nature were expressed openly and with sarcasm: “It’s not clear at all what your God is like,” “Your rituals are completely incomprehensible,” and so on. The spouses, who have been serving the children for seven years, were accused of seeking profit. The removal procedure itself was in the traditions of the NKVD: the children were detained right at school, not even given the chance to say goodbye to their foster family.

“A lot is being said now about the program ‘Russia without Orphans,’” — comments Bishop Sergey Ryakhovsky, — “the main vector of the country’s development is the elimination of orphanages and the transfer of children to families. And what do we see here? Instead of inviting these selfless people to share their experience, their children are taken away, deciding that they would be better off in an orphanage than in a Christian family.”
