Pastors of the Registered Church Worked Against God and the Church in Accordance with 'Legislation on Religious Cults'
Obligations of a Registered “Pastor” to the Authorities
What did a registered pastor sign and what was he obligated to provide to the authorities?
- All information about all church members. And if a brother or sister held leadership positions, they were usually dismissed, subjected to persecution and atheistic indoctrination, and if they did not comply, it was very difficult to find a job in their field.
- Children were to be educated solely in communist and atheistic ideology, and any contact with religion was forbidden.
- The legislation on religious cults prohibits religious associations from:
а) Teaching religion to minors, and involving children in choirs, orchestras,
б) Also from holding special prayer meetings together with clergy for children, teenagers, and women; в). Providing material support to their members and engaging in charitable activities 5. The organization and implementation
of religious upbringing of children, in any form whatsoever, contradicts the requirements of Soviet legislation and must therefore be strictly suppressed. p.38 - The legislation on religious cults prohibits religious associations from carrying out any work on the upbringing of children and teaching them religion. p.39
- The Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR has the right:
а) to inspect the activities of religious organizations regarding their compliance with the legislation on religious cults and issue mandatory instructions to eliminate these violations - The City Executive Committee is granted the right to reject certain individuals from the executive bodies of religious associations (churches). p.71
By signing these obligations, the pastor could do nothing without coordinating his activities with the executive committees and obtaining permission from them. Here I cite only part of the legislation.
