Priest Smirnov called on the Russian president to jail sectarians, and the Russian people to 'smash the vile sect' 'these freaks'

On May 6, 2012, the day before the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin for a third term, the Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Russia (police, FSB), Archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church Dimitry Smirnov, on an Orthodox program on Russian television, made a very important statement concerning the future of Protestants (sects) in the Russian Federation.

At first glance, Dimitry Smirnov looks like an unregenerate, perishing person who dared to speak as a teacher and shepherd of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A clearly pre-arranged question from a woman calling on the phone, who reads out a prepared question that Smirnov apparently already knows, which he reminds her to ask him, and to which he rushes to answer without waiting for her to finish.

Smirnov answers the question about who is responsible for the fact that people are being zombified in Russia (the caller’s relative was allegedly lured to Siberia by sectarians).

Smirnov names those responsible:

the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, as the one who did not legislatively ban Protestants, and
the Russian people, as those who have so far sat idly by and not smashed “these freaks.”

Has Smirnov become an opponent of President Putin? Of course not. This attack must have been coordinated, as Smirnov is a high-ranking official of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

“We want from our president, that he do as it was in the Soviet Union, so that not a single filthy sect can operate here as if at home! Otherwise Mormons come, Jehovah’s Witnesses come… Previously they all sat in prisons.»

– this is the desire of the ROC that Protestants be unable to operate in Russia and be imprisoned, as in the times of the USSR.

Next, Smirnov justifies why sects should be banned and thrown into prisons:

“ So that from this foreign filth, which is a financial pyramid, absolutely unscrupulous… They really zombify people. But the state must protect the people, because the people are not prepared for this – the forces are unequal. Prepared, trained in methods of influencing people malicious beings come, under the pretext of the absence of appropriate laws, they act. But we know, there are specialists, everything is known.”

Next, Smirnov says what needs to be done legislatively: “Ban all totalitarian sects by a stroke of the pen. Prepare this law – it’s 40 minutes. If you’re lazy, take the French law against Scientologists, translate it from French into Russian, give it to a girl from the 4th year of the philology faculty, she will edit it literarily and, please – let’s go to the Duma. What questions!?”

It’s that simple to deal with the Protestants: give the translated French law to be edited not even by a certified philologist, but simply a 4th-year student. Wow! And there will be no stopping after the State Duma.

According to Smirnov, there is no problem with the president’s stroke of the pen and the vote in the State Duma. Perhaps just laziness to spend time drafting the law – and that’s it. But the problem, according to Smirnov, lies in the Russian people:

“But what is the problem? Our people, here you are crying, calling.

Gather the people, smash this sect!.. Go there! Go to the police! If they do not take measures, then – to the prosecutor’s office! You must act, not cry! Do you understand? Because Putin alone will do nothing. Do you understand? With our popular support of 63%, he (Putin) will be left hanging in the air. Do you understand? Not a single general, – he can only set an example,

…You must act yourselves, spend on this time, money, resources of acquaintances.

It must be done so that the ground burns under the feet of these freaks! …

The people must take power into their own hands: both****the media, and laws, and finances… …Perfectly obvious things, infiltrated Cossacks from there, here they do whatever they want. We must then act in the same way.”
