The Orthodox community of Saratov organized a signature drive to reintroduce into the criminal code the article against pederasty — homosexuality and lesbianism!

Facebook Fails to Meet Saratov Orthodox Demands. Now All Gays and Lesbians in Russia Will Suffer.

After issuing an ultimatum to the social network Facebook and its providers in Russia, the Orthodox community of Saratov launched a petition drive to reinstate into the criminal code an article against sodomy — homosexuality and lesbianism.

The reason for the Saratov Orthodox activists’ demarche was, as is well known, the scandal over the introduction in the popular social network Facebook of icons to designate same-sex marriages.

“We have only one demand — to shut down Facebook nationwide, as they blatantly promote homosexuality and lesbianism among minors,” Vladimir Roslyakovsky, leader of the Orthodox public organization “Solidarity,” told the “TemaSaratov” portal. Although, according to him, the corresponding legislation is not in effect throughout Russia, for a start what is currently available will suffice. These are St. Petersburg, Samara, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, Kostroma and Arkhangelsk regions.

“We will start with the most problematic city in this regard – St. Petersburg. The city on the Neva is constantly feverish from the attempts of sodomites to rock the boat in their favor. Just yesterday their gay parade was dispersed. And the police did the right thing — gays and lesbians are a contagion for society, and society must root out this virus from itself, no matter how painful it may be,” Roslyakovsky stated.

Since Facebook did not comply with the demands of the Orthodox activists stated in the ultimatum and did not abandon the use of the notorious icons, he continued, a signature drive has begun for the return to the criminal code of the article against sodomy that was in effect during the Soviet period.

“In the first three days we have already collected 34 thousand signatures. We intend to collect no less than a million across all regions where our organization operates. In addition, part of the Muslim, Catholic and Jewish communities have already been brought in, because the profiteers who prey on children have neither conscience nor religious affiliation. And it doesn’t matter that skeptics consider Facebook’s audience to be many times larger than the opponents of sodomy. The millionth signature will hammer the final nail into the coffin of Facebook in Russia. We will hand over the letter with the appeal and signatures to the State Duma so that the people’s elected representatives understand the true desires of citizens, not what is being imposed on us from across the ocean. America has one goal – for Russians to stop giving birth to children and to turn from a great nation into something like the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah. Russia is a bone in America’s throat, and the companies doing business here only confirm my opinion. Facebook must not be in Russia simply because it does not respect Russians, considering each of us a potential pervert, homosexual or lesbian. All this is being crammed into the minds of our children from an early age, and young people begin to think that an uncle married to an uncle is normal, and an aunt to an aunt is cool. Facebook must answer for the corruption of children, and answer with its entire business in Russia. Unfortunately, there are already many whom they have influenced, so even billions in losses for Facebook will not fully compensate for the damage to the citizens of our state. After all, it is mostly inexperienced youth who use the network, and what will grow out of them now is unclear. But the only thing we are still able to do is to stop the monster that brings hellish torments to all its henchmen,” Vladimir Roslyakovsky concluded.

It should be recalled that the scandal in Saratov erupted against the backdrop of an action by one of the largest and most popular global social networks, Facebook, which introduced icons to designate same-sex marriages.

Such designations first appeared after a post on the site by one of the network’s founders, Chris Hughes, about his marriage to his friend Sean Eldridge. The couple marked their relationship with an icon of two grooms.

This is not the first time Facebook has supported same-sex relationships. Last year, among other relationship status options, the network added the items “civil union” and “domestic partnership,” which are legal forms of same-sex relationships in European countries.

In addition, Facebook, together with GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), fights against so-called cyber-bullying – teasing gays and lesbians online.

Violators of this rule against insults face a lifetime ban from the social network.

Orthodox community activists, however, considered this to be too blatant propaganda of homosexuality on the internet, including among underage users.

On July 3, 2012, activist Vladimir Roslyakovsky stated that if Facebook does not stop flirting with sodomites, then conscientious citizens will have no choice but to officially sue the providers who deliver Facebook content to Russia. “If they are so clever and stop at nothing to achieve financial prosperity, then we must stop them,” Vladimir Roslyakovsky told the “TemaSaratov” portal. “We sent a fax to the company’s Russian office. If within 24 hours they do not remove all signs of sodomite propaganda, they have only themselves to blame. They came to Russia and are imposing their vulgar rules on us. The country’s laws and its citizens will be able to protect their children.”

On July 4, 2012, immediately after the ultimatum expired, Vladimir Roslyakovsky sent a demand to the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation to check Facebook’s activities for propaganda of homosexuality, pedophilia and lesbianism. In the activist’s opinion, Facebook must be immediately shut down, to begin with in those regions where legislation already provides for liability for promoting a passion for same-sex relations that is hostile to Russia.

“Facebook did not comply with our lawful demands within 24 hours, and now they have only themselves to blame. They have once again proven that they came to Russia to impose their vulgar rules and corrupt our children for the sake of dubious, momentary gain. But I am confident that Russia’s laws and sane-minded citizens will be able to protect their children from the fierce attack of sodomites unleashed against an entire nation,” summarized Vladimir Roslyakovsky.
